ANTIQUE HOLSTER RESTORATION (.38/.357 CAL)

This early 1900’s antique holster that we restored for a client was designed by Browning Brothers to fit most .38 special and .357 magnum caliber revolvers in a 6'“ barrel length. This holster was very stiff and in desperate need, possessing rotten lace and having mold setting in. The holster was first cleaned and conditioned before being treated for mold which was a multiple day process due to staggered drying times, but ultimately resulting in a lovely patina. Lastly, the holster was laced up with new kangaroo rawhide which has been prized historically for its durability and beauty; we matched the original single whipstitch technique to keep the piece authentic.

The entire restoration took 5 hours, and 5 minutes.
